Chapter 4.5 - Break of Trust

 

As soon as Vear came home, there was Jason, on the sofa, looking at her with a face like he wanted to jump at her. She had never seen him with such a terrible face, and was almost afraid of asking what had happened.

 

Then, she went to her room, and Jason did not say a word. When she left her room, she decided that it was time to tell him about what had happened to his mother. She had been thinking about it a lot lately. He deserved to know it. Hiding it from him would only bring more pain once the truth came out. And it surely would be better if it came out from her than from strangers.

 

But the reason for why she had been trying to hide it from him was because she loved him more than anything. And, logically, she wanted to prevent him from suffering, but in her head, she could no longer do that. He was now a fifteen-years old boy, not a small child anymore.

“My beloved grandson... I want to tell you that --” she said.

“INFORM ME WHAT? That my mom can be dead or can have turned into a murderer, who killed Captain Georg?” he replied with a furious tone.

“What????? How do you --?” confused, she asked.

“I discovered it on the TV. You forgot to block the channels.” he replied as if he wanted to punish her for forgetting to do that.

“Oh no. I’m deeply sorry....” she replied and almost started to cry.

“Sorry for what? How long did you plan to hide the truth from me? Forever? I’m not a baby anymore! I’m a teenager, and very soon, I’ll be an adult! So stop thinking of me as a baby! Don’t try to protect me from everything. You tried, and see what happened? I’m suffering a lot more than I would have if you had told me about it back then.” he replied, almost screaming.

“Sorry for treating you as a child... for hiding things from you... I’m deeply sorry... You know how much I love you, don’t you?” she calmly said, and it was noticeable that she wanted to cry a lot.

“I.... I need time to think... I’m going to my room... and I need to be alone for a while....” he replied as if he regretted discussing that way with her. Then, he left.

“I’m... sorry... please... forgive me... you’re everything I have...” Vear emotionally whispered.

 

Jason stood thinking about everything in his room for hours. Vear went to her room, and started crying. She really felt bad for hiding the truth from Jason. If she knew it would end up like this, she would never have done it.

 

A few hours later, Jason heard Vear crying, and entered in her room.

 

“My.... dear..... I’m so sorry.... I shouldn’t have....” Vear said this while crying.

“No, don’t be sorry. You did what you did to protect me... And you want to protect me because you love me, I’m sure.... Sorry for being so furious early.... I should have approached you in a different way....” Jason replied with a tone of deeply regretting his acts.

 

And so, they kept crying for a while. Since it was really late, around 3:00a.m., Jason ended up sleeping in Vear’s room. In the morning, they started talking about Keyla.

 

“So, grandma?” Jason calmly asked.

“Yes, sweetheart?” Vear happily replied.

“About mom.... What do you think? Is she really ---” Jason was interrupted by Vear.

“We won’t know unless we go... And we’re going tomorrow.... Then, we’ll finally find the answer to this horrible doubt. I just hope everything turns out to be alright...” Vear replied as her eyes looked to the sky through the window.

 

She surely was worried about the future. She could not believe that it was their last day on Earth. It all happened so fast. She remembered when the three of them used to be a happy family, when Jason was just a baby. That marvelous time would probably never return. But, at the same time, a part of her did not want to look back to the past, and just let life guide her to the future.

Meanwhile, Keyla had decided to pay a visit to the doctor, to ask him where she could get some nice clothes.

 

“Heya, doc. You there? I need help...” she asked with a polite tone.

“Hello, Lunaf. How have you been?” he happily replied to see that pretty woman once again.

“Oh, I’m fine, thanks. But I wanted to ask if you could help me. I need to get a beautiful dress, and some nice shoes, too.” she asked while smiling as much as she could in order to get what she wanted.

“Hm... A dress? And shoes? I could ask my friend... Yeah, just wait a bit.” he replied with a tone of surprise, and left to the house near the hospital.

 

“Tonight’s gonna be a nice show. You just wait, leader. You’ll see the most beautiful lady you’ve ever seen in your miserable life. But you won’t get anything from me. I’ll just use you and then sent you to the trash -- not now, though.” Keyla thought to herself.

 

“Okay, Lunaf. Here, this is a friend of mine. She brought countless beautiful dresses. I just hope you can find one of them suitable. I will take my leave now. Anything at all, just pass by the hospital.” he happily replied, probably thinking that she would meet him wearing the beautiful dress later, probably at the night.

 

“Hello, my name is Vaya. I was told by Michel that you’re a really nice and polite lady. Lunaf, right?” Vaya asked.

“Yes, that’s right. So, do you have a dress that would fit me?” Keyla happily asked.

“Yes, you’re so beautiful -- I’ve gotta a real nice dress. It’s pink, and it has a lot of details. I trust that you’ll be very amazed by it.” Vaya replied.

 

Then, she brought Keyla to a special room, where countless of beautiful dresses were. But one was special. It was that one that Vaya would borrow to her. Combined with Keyla’s natural beauty, she would look like a Goddess with it.

 

“Hm... So, this is it? Nice! Thank you so much, Mrs. Vaya! I’ll bring it by tomorrow morning just as I took it. At the night, can I use your restroom to put a nice make up, and wear it, too?” Keyla replied with a really happy tone.

“Sure, my dear. Anything you need.” Vaya replied.

 

Then, Keyla left Vaya’s house, and started to laugh alone. Her plan was sure to be successful.

 

“Hahahaha! That stupid woman. She is so kind. I can’t wait until I burn her and those dresses from fairy tales with her. If I were in a fairy tale, of course I’d be the dark witch that curses the poor lady. Tonight I’ll know everything I need. And soon, babies, this village will be taken out of the map. WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” Keyla thought to herself while she laughed alone.

Very good. Never stop. Make books. You have no choice! I am now your king. You will write books forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever... Please? lol jk Just write more great things like this. Fantastic job
