I am studying lucid and precognitive dreams, because lately if have them.
So I got a book for Christmas about this subject.
It’s very interesting.

First I will explain what lucid and precognitive dreams are.
Lucid dreams are dreams where you wake up in Your dream, so you are aware that you are dreaming at that point. and precognitive dreams are dreams that tell the future (sometimes very clear and most of the time cryptic).

I have learn a lot that maybe is in the game, because it is about dreaming.
The first thing I learned is that your body is completely paralyzed while you are in a lucid dream and Riku and Sora are in a lucid dream. So somebody has to protect them from really getting hurt or something like that and with Maleficent coming back that can be an pain in the *ss.

the second thing I learned was that your mind wants to make you forget it is all a dream and makes you believe everything you see is truly happening. Maybe this can lead to Sora and Riku thinking they are really trying to fight for their lives and forget about the mark of mastery.

Emotions make you awake, so I think that Riku and Sora have to stay emotionless until the end. So probably a good ending would be that Sora has fought for Kairi AGAIN and he finally falls in love his emotions rise and he wakes up.

The last thing, I think (hope) is in the game is precognitive dreaming. That what Riku and Sora dream comes true, like Xehnorth, Vantias coming back and destroying everything. Sora and Riku then wake up and realize it is coming true and that they didn't pass the mark of mastery test. But they still have to prevent it from really happening.

All of my thoughts that I wrote down here are just guesses, I just want to know what you think of them and maybe you even have your own theory now that you know about lucid and precognitive dreams.

The thing about it becoming true could make it to that shocking ending though.

Sora will wake up because he will remember the feeling when he met Riku again and kneeled down before him, holding his hand - that´s true love and it will safe him

However, I like your theory. Sounds like a real Kudzu Plot and would be nice if it really kinda happens.

I think that there is a big error in your point of view:
If Sora and Riku wake up, they will automatically pass in the mark of mastery exam. A think that the key to come back is to find the "key of sleep" and the use it in the "keyhole of the speeping worlds"

the precognitive dreaming idea is interesting. but honestly i cant see them BOTH failing the mark of mastery test. we need another master.

What about Ventus, maybe they find him in the world of sleep. He then returns and becomes a Master.

Hard to believe, I think even impossible. I think that they will encounter Ventus in the world of sleep, but the person who said that she would wake up Ventus was Aqua, and I think that Nomura wouldn't change that. Other thing: "I've been sleeping for 10 years and when I woke up I suddenly was named master, things went better than expected!" seriously, Hard to believe.

Yeah but if Mickey finds Aqua and she finds Ventus and Ventus, Sora and Riku or one of them find the key to sleep. Ventus has returned and did a task what made 2 other guys Masters so it could be possible. Als Yen Sid is super smart, he had send Mickey to the Darkrealm to find Aqua in the first game and now sets a Mastery test in the world of sleep where Ventus is. He doesn't just do that, I think there is a bigger reason behind it. Maybe Ventus is searching for the Key to Sleep in those 10 years and never found it, Yen Sid knows that and sends back-up. It is possible :).

That´s sounds quite logical O_o
And would be awesome as well. That would explain why Vanitas is there, too, if Xehanort had thought this far. After all: His selves are there. My only problem with this is the fact that Vanitas showed up next to young Xehanort and something is telling me that this guy (whatever he is at the moment) is not like the "evil" other Xehanorts, there.

Brain wave XD
Let´s say Ven is really there in order to find the key and so tries to wake himself up - would Vanitas not have the same reson? So... maybe Young Xehanort tries the same...

i doubt that. I think that you be in a sleeping state doesn't put you in a special situation where you can go to other sleeping worlds, to do this you need a Keyblade or something like, Ventus have one, but I think it's more logical to think that he is jailed inside Sora. i mean, Yen Sid needed to open the Keyhole of sleep to get them in there, I don't think it's so easy to go to the sleeping worlds.
About Aqua I think that Mickey and Yen Sid knew about she being in the realm of darkness, but maybe that beach where she is is like a "dead end" in the darkness real, the lower point one can go in there, so they couldn't bring her back.

But my thoughts are this: Enter in a sleeping world is very very difficult, Ven is sleeping, but I don't think he is in a good state to be able to make something like search for something that he even doesn't know about, I think he is sleeping and he won't manifest himself until Sora himself reachs him.
In my head, Yen Sid knows that Ventus is sleeping inside Sora, and to make contact, he putted Sora in the sleeping worlds, and, more than it, so that he could face the "hurt" in a better way (Just who have played Re:Coded will understand it). For me, the Idea of Ventus looking for a key he doesn't know about when his heart is damaged in a very bad way acessing worlds that have no gates leading into them and to Sora and Riku enter in them Yen Sid will have to open the keyhole of sleep is very unlikely..
