How does this not fit in entertainment? I haven't played either game, so I can't help you, but maybe you should just get both
Lu Xun 2,069 Posted December 7, 2011 Well, I've already heard something about Xenogears, but nothing about the other one... But I haven't played any, so sorry, can't exactly help you there... But I'd get Xenogears I think, if I were in your place..

kalnet 1,198 Posted December 7, 2011 Xenogears dude Xenogears. Played it when I was 8 and it was.. (maybe I'm a little bit over of myself but..) the best rpg game I've played in my lifetime. If you've had played the Xenosaga series on the PS2, it somewhat has the same gameplay mechanics ( but strangely more lovable gameplay in Xenogears =/) because it was the same developers that created this game before they moved out of Squaresoft. I won't go into detail about the game history but I'll just tell you about the gameplay. You will level up like any normal rpg games but you don't learn new skills as you level up. You level up your "skills" also known as "Deathblows" by continuously using the old deathblow. You will know when you start playing the game. You not only need to upgrade your character but your Robot as well. Those "Robots" you will use are called "Gears". They play a huge role in this story so make sure to take good care of it when you have the Gears. Unlike RPG games today, there are lots of secrets in this game, but remember this. Make sure you look every nook and corner in the area you've been along the way. It might come in handy as you play along. I will not tell you how the story or the music goes. You have play to find out yourself. I will also not show you those gameplay videos as it gives away the excitement of getting playing the game through hardwork. Trust me, its worth it. unless you've already look through some of the videos then I don't know. I don't know anything about Xenogears last time and I randomly bought it so...yeah. =/ Now about Vagrant story, I've played a few times when I was young but it doesn't really dig me so much or the epic-ness of it. I will hugely recommend for you to get Xenogears as it was overshadowed by "FF7" back in the day and sad no one gets to know much about this game. Get it. You will not regret it. I say it takes an average of 30 hours time of gameplay if you rush it, but a full "take your time" gameplay will be 50 hours or so. I'm sorry to go all fanboy-ish and one-sided over this game. You will pretty much understand how I felt when you play this game. And no, it doesn't play like Xenoblade. Off-topic but try to look into "Legend Of Dragoon". Its also another RPG game I would recommend but get Xenogears first. Please please please get Xenogears and tell me what you think about the game. It starts slow but hey, its an RPG game so take it slowly.
