I posted a topic for SC5 back closer to it's announcement, but now I can finally give it a real crack.
Name: Soul Calibur V
System: Playstation 3, Xbox 360
Producer: Namco
Rating: PEGI-16, T
Players: 1-2 (offline or online), most likely up to 16 for Tournament mode
Release Date: January 31, 2012
Exclusive content: None
DLC Content: Yes
Set seventeen years after the events of Soul Calibur IV, this tale of souls and swords follows the stories of Pyrrha and Patroklos Alexandra, the daughter and son of Sophitia Alexandra, respectively. After the events of IV, Pyrrha was abducted by Tira and has been on her own since. How this ties in with her brother and the other characters is currently unknown.
Only about half of the character roster has been revealed thus far. To this date, confirmed characters include:
(I can apparently only post X pictures, even if they are in spoiler boxes, so I'm only posting new characters and central designs.)
Veterans
Siegfried Schtauffen
Nightmare
Heishiro Mitsurugi
Isabella "Ivy" Valentine
Taki
Maxi
Hildegard "Hilde" von Krone
Tira
Voldo
Astaroth (new Astaroth)
Raphael Sorel
Geo Dampierre
It is worth noting that there have been no changes to Dampierre's design, though this is his first appearance on a console system. There is talk of him being DLC.
Newcomers
Patroklos Alexandra
Son of Sophitia. Brother of Pyrrha.
Pyrrha Alexandra
Daughter of Sophitia. Sister of Patroklos.
Natsu
Disciple of Taki.
Z.W.E.I.
Relationships unknown.
Yan Leixia
Daughter of Chai Xianghua.
Viola
Relathionships unknown. Said to play an important part in the story.
And of course, our very Special Guest
Ezio Auditore
The Critical Finish system has been abolished and replaced by Critical Edge, a series of devestating attacks similar to most fighting games. A guage fills up and when it's full, you can use your Critical Edge. Simple as that.
There is no exclusivity between consoles; one version of the game is just as good as the other.
Daishi Odashima has said that there will be more than 20 stages with selectable music, and that about half or so will be multi-tiered stages. Look forward to smashing your helpless foes through walls!
Character creation returns and it's... I don't think I can say what I was about to but YEAH! Check vid below. There's honestly too much to type.
