Hello guys. I've sent this first part of the story to some members here, and they liked it a lot. So, I thought it'd be better to share it with everyone. Hope you like it

 

 

 

A Frightful Prevision

 

At a night, of May 29th of the year 2049, to be exact, something strange happened. But, before discovering what occurred, it’s better to know what had been happening in some time before that day. In the next lines, you will be able to read and put your imagination to work -- or at least give it a try -- in order to understand everything that this story has to tell.

 

-> March 11th <-

 

Today was an excellent day. Why? Because I got a promotion, and the rumors of some kind of “threat” coming to earth have been almost completely destroyed.. But, there are still some people who believe that we may be in risk of facing the last days of our lives -- of the humanity.

 

There were already many people who predicted a lot of things like that, but in the end, we are still here and alive, after all. Yet again, it’s still too early to say that this prediction is completely impossible to happen... Even I, who was instructed to calm the people, and tell them not to panic, still have doubts if this is really only a false rumor, or if it’ll really happen... But I pray that it doesn’t happen.

 

However, you might be interested in knowing what that prevision has to say.. But I think it’s still to early for me to tell it.. After all, what IS supposed to happen is only in some months, so I’ll tell about it in the near future. At least I managed to accomplish my duty; the people seems to be more calm now. We just need to carry on with our normal lives, that’s it. No need to worry.

 

 

-> March 30th <-

 

It has already passed some days since I last wrote in this diary. I can’t believe I am really enjoying this -- although it was an idea of my own daughter. But, returning to the main subject, there are more and more people supporting that prediction.. My duty has become very hard, even though people do respect me. When I’m not around, many of them begin to talk about it. I have been busy during this time I was off.. Me and the other politics -- we need to make sure that the people are not attracted by that idea -- but what if, we ourselves are?

 

I am not saying I believe in it, but I can’t tell the contrary as well.. Something just tells me this is not really wrong at all. But, who knows? It might be only my imagination. Maybe I’m just getting old. With almost fifty years, it’s hard to face what I face everyday. Well, let’s stop talking about my personal life... My main goal with this is to find out more about the rumors...

 

So, as I’ve said before, many people continue to fight for these ideas... And look, we haven’t fought since 1927... And, with our own people.. Where will this world end? Can’t people have different opinions without respecting the others? Maybe this is really the end of this race -- which was once a pure and good race, in which people treated the others well, and not only worried about their interests, the money -- its name? Humanity.

 

But, if we think properly, this wouldn’t be a bad end at all.. You might be calling me a crazy or something like that, but see: We’ve killed thousands of animals, and don’t come with the argument: “we need to eat”, because in those thousands, many were only killed because men have their own interests.. They want to make new things, and don’t care with what or who they have to cross down to achieve their goals. With time, the humans have been more and more selfish.

 

I remember.. In thirty years ago, we weren’t so bad as we are today. We had water, but what have we done with it? We spent it without caring about the consequences.. And who is going to pay for that? We. It can be sooner or later, but we will end paying for what we’ve done. Nowadays, it’s very rare to find the old and good water. With the new technology, and since we don’t have the food we used to, we have to eat some strange things made by these scientists.. But I can’t badmouth them, can I? Because, if it weren’t for them, we might have met our end sooner.. In 2040, 91.56% of the entire rain forests of the world were completely destroyed, and with it, many species of animals, our natural resources... But I ask: Is this really good enough? We have to get rid of the forests to get more technology? Really?

 

My answer to this question is this : No, we shouldn’t have done that. But who am I to say this to the entire humanity? I would end up being killed by the owners of the factories and others.. But, while our great technology doesn’t build a Time Machine, we have to hang on. Do you know how we live today? Thanks to the Factories and their gases that have destroyed our Ozone Layer, we were forced to build new houses.. Ones with Oxygen. Why? Because it’s very rare to find some nowadays. The rays of the sun have turned the temperature to 58.5Cº, which makes it almost impossible to hold on that temperature for more than twenty minutes.

 

Ahhh.. If only I could go back to 2012 or 2014, when our world was so amazingly good to live.. But I can’t blame it, because it was our fault -- we were the ones who didn’t listen to what was right in front of us -- The terrible future we were creating. Those amazing campaigns for the reforestation.. Nowadays, it doesn’t exist anymore. The Humanity is too busy to think about protecting the less than 10% we still have.

 

Oh.. It’s late. 11:59p.m. I need to go sleep now. Might come back and write more in this diary in a week or so. Who knows? Maybe more and more people will continue to support that prevision. Bye for now.

 

->April 12th <-

 

I guess I haven’t had much time to write here. More than one week, eh? But don’t worry, I have a good reason for that. Nowadays, our population is around 5,000,000,000 of people. Why am I informing this, you ask? Because between this incredibly big number, 1,000,000,000 of people have just began to support the prevision! My duty has become more and more difficult with time. So, I have to spend most of the time doing it. I’m getting tired of it.

 

Besides that, do you know what’s the worst? The day of the prevision is coming. It’s in a bit more than one month. As time passes, I’m getting more and more frightened. I know nothing will happen, but still... What if this time, the prevision is right? Well, you might be curious to know what the prevision says. However, I’m afraid I don’t have a proper definition , since it’s strange, because there are subgroups. Some say that it foresees the end of the World, others say that it’s the end of our Planet, that the world is going to be rebuilt, that some other species are going to invade the Earth... That’s why it’s so hard to block its advance, since it has many currents.

 

Although the politicians don’t seem to believe in that, I’ve been told that they’re making some new vehicles, which are capable of flying without oil, and that can use its lasers to destroy anything. What they do not know is that, even I am building a new escape route, for myself and my family. But I can’t talk about it now. However, I am praying that I don’t need to eventually use it in the future.

 

Wait! What? My friends -- the other politics responsible for maintaining the peace between the people -- have just warned me that the leader of the prevision has been spotted! I’m sorry, but I need to go right now. If we kill him, we may have a chance to stop the rumors right from the source! I’ll try to report the results of the battle as soon as possible. You won’t believe me. We have failed during our attempt of killing their leader. Thanks to the people, he was able to flee to another country. They’ve made that country the base for their operations. I don’t know how the country was called, but now its name is “Sacred and Pure Land”. This represents a big loss to us, the ones who SHOULD have taken care of ending the prevision by eliminating those who proclaim it.

 

But past is past, we need to look for the future. And, to make it all worse, by each day that we’re not capable of defeating them, their so-called prevision is getting nearer... And that’s what makes me frightened. But, enough about it. I’ll be telling the main details of the battle in the next paragraphs.

 

The battle began on April 13th, at 11:00a.m. Their leader, whose name is Drak, appeared alone on England. So, we quickly joined our forces and went to there as soon as possible. However, when we arrived there, the city where Drak was passing through was in a chaotic situation. The people -- who had been warned by Drak that we were arriving -- began to make a rebellion. They closed the streets, and therefore we could not pass, at least not with our cars. Then, the few of us who had helicopters, continued as fast as possible, while the others who were forced to leave their cars, kept running after Drak.

 

Unfortunately, however, the people refused to leave, and began to make a big manifestation. We -- at least for that moment -- were so happy, because it was the first actual chance we’ve had to catch and end this thing that most of my friend call “Madness of the Devil”. But the destiny was really against us. So, some of our officers began to shoot at the people -- it was the only way to make them move. Around 300 people were killed, and 999 were badly injured. In the end, what made us stoop shooting was that, one soldier -- who didn’t have any ability with a gun -- accidentally shot at a baby’s face, which caused the grief of everyone.

 

In less than ten minutes, some medics arrived, and managed to treat the baby very well. “Ah, we’re saved. I couldn’t keep blaming my friends and me for the death of a pure and innocent little baby,” I thought to myself at that very moment. So, since everything returned to normal, we began to shoot again. This time, however, it was Drak himself who stopped us. He said some strange words -- which were surely not from our language -- and so a tornado appeared. To make it stranger, it only hit soldiers of our troops, no one from his followers was hit by it. I’m not sure if that was an illusion created by him, or if he really does have powers, but it’s hard to believe.

 

Well, I don’t have much time, so I’ll go right to the end. We had to retreat, while the people who follow him began to smile for their little victory. Drak managed to successfully arrive in his new country, and with him in there, it’ll be very hard to kill him now... I’ve heard that the country is completely surrounded by soldiers who also proclaim the prevision. Drak himself is living in a big palace. I still can’t believe we’ve missed this chance.. Well, enough of regrets... I need to leave now. I hope this has kept you guys entertained for some minutes, or if you read quickly, for some moments. Oh my god, I need to sleep... Tomorrow we will begin to think our new scheme to destroy that country, and kill Drak.

I’ll make Drak’s diary as well So, you’ll be able to know what he thinks, his goals, and everything about him. Also, I’d like to hear suggestions if you have any. Don’t be afraid to tell, I won’t bite

 

Well, hello, my name is Draksnes, but everyone calls me Drak. It’s my nickname, or something like that. I was born in 1985, when this world was still good and beautiful, unlike today. Before I tell you anything about the present, let me tell you about my past.

 

Early Life

 

I was born in Brazil, and my parents’ names are Jessy Caren and Joshy Willians. If you want to know the specific date, I’ll tell you right now: 12:00am, on December 25th. I was very happy and friendly until I was twelve. After that, my best friends left the school I studied, and I was forced to make new friends. However, as you may know how adolescents are... They’ve made fun of me every time, and I had so much hatred in my heart...

 

I only began to be happy again when I entered on High School. I changed schools, and thanks to some luck, I made a lot of good friends. However, I’m not being snobbish, but I have always been the smartest person in my class. So, you can imagine what I had to face -- envy. There has been a person on High School that was almost as intelligent as I am, but he needed to do way more if he wanted to surpass me.

 

With 17 years, I ended school and found myself in my first job, a seller on a Shop. It was really fun, except for the fact that the manager noticed how smart I was, and, as he was afraid of losing his job for me, he invented a crazy situation, and I was fired. Then, that was when I noticed that I couldn’t do normal jobs -- I was destined for something greater... Maybe a celebrity? But, unfortunately, that road was not for me.

 

Oh, I forgot to tell... You guys know that we don’t speak English in Brazil, right? So, do you know how I’ve learned to speak English? By myself. I was so smart that I actually asked my parents to buy some English books, and managed to teach myself it. I bet you’re amazed, aren’t you? I just hope you aren’t jealous as well... Sorry, it’s an habit to think that everyone is jealous of me...

 

Choosing a Career to Follow

 

Being so smart as I am has its bad sides, like I’ve already mentioned, but of course it has its privileges as well! I was invited to be part of many colleges, but in the end, I’ve decided to make a Public Contest, and ended up passing -- which was not something unbelievable. So, it was everything I desired -- I couldn’t be fired without doing something really bad, I gained a lot of money, and I managed to retire with a young age.

 

When I was thirty-five, my mother died of an illness... That was the saddest period of my life.. She was so close to me! I still love you, mom! However, I do blame myself, because near her death, I wasn’t spending almost any time with her, because I was really obsessed with my job... Five years ago, it was my father’s time to rest in peace... It wasn’t so hard for me like my mom was, but of course I became sad.. I didn’t have parents anymore..

 

However, as God takes someone important in your life, he’ll surely guide you to another! That’s what happened to me, anyway. I found the love of my life in that same year, Nisha. She was so good to me... I loved her so much! But, as I’ve used the Simple Past in this last sentence, you might be wondering what happened to her, right? Okay, I’ll kill your curiosity. She died two years after we married, and so she left me a son, which I named George.

 

After many losses of my life, I’ve decided to retire when I was forty-two. Then, I began to dedicate my life to another thing : The Religion. With the time, I have created my own Religion, which has attracted some people! It’s so good to see that! I choose a name very different for it : Olthism. It has a lot of principles, and a few rules.
