I wanna do a Karkat cosplay so freakin' bad, and I already have the wig for it. But, uh... It came with all this product in it, and looked spiky and greasy as f*ck, so I washed it out. Now it's flat as hell and doesn't look anything like how I wanted it to be.
Does anyone know how to properly style a flat wig to make it look like it has more volume?
If not, can someone direct me towards a cosplay site that sells good semi-poofy wigs?
(If all else fails, I'm gonna have to ask /cgl/ personally.)
Either one of these would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I need some help putting together a cosplay idea for my anime club, there setting up a cosplay day (meaning I have to wear it all day) and I don't know what to do really. I was thinking of something from D.N Angel but I need help with the ideas on it. Can anyone help me devise one for my Anime club?
D.N. Angel would be just slightly difficult, since most wigs of their characters suck, so you'd have to do quite a bit of styling. (Daisuke has spiky-ass hair, and Dark has that... stringy, yet shiny hair, which usually looks derpy if you just buy ANY purple wig online.)
Itachi would be a better idea, but not recommended. Akatsuki cloaks can be expensive, just how Organization cloaks can be pricey as well.
If you want something easy that looks cool, you can try Izaya: http://media.photobu...9476fd71c10.jpg
Or Hibari: http://fullcosplay.t...o-hitman-reborn
If you're feeling ballsy, do Link (which can get expensive... My Link cosplay cost me over 200 bucks.): http://www.zeldadung...-by-pikminlink/
(PikminLink might crush your dreams as being Link since she's so good at it though, lol. I know she did that to me.)

I've actually see Akatsuki cloaks for 50 bucks. The Itachi wig is easy, as is the ring and headband.

Akatsuki cloaks for 50 dollars usually aren't the best; whether it be fabric, quality, or the seller. However, since Naruto is super popular, the stuff has been cutting down in prices since more and more people want it...
Rings and headbands are definitely easy. I used to get all my Naruto apparel at a local Gamer's shop, lol. Granted, Naruto stuff in general is pretty simple to find; through the Internet and malls alike.

I suggest someone easy with a casual NORMAL outfit so it's not too out there. Belysxh had good suggestions
@Belysxh
you should go look at http://homestuckcosp...elp.tumblr.com/ and ask them for help
@Number XV
Cheap Akatsuki cloaks are usually in bad quality. When getting cloaks for an Akatsuki or Org. cosplay you have to be willing to spend a lot of money for a GOOD quality cloak.
also wheee i finished the front of my Gamzee pants!

I used acrylic paint mixed with fabric medium and it came out lovely
now
as for my gamzee wig, it needs some styling
i'm thinking of cutting the bangs a bit, styling it as messy as i want it, and then using just a bit of hairspray to keep it that way
good idea?
this is the wig with my just messing it up a bit
the bangs at the front are long because it's actually meant to be like a zexion styled wig haha

So I got the wig I'm using for my Equius cosplay today, and I'm going to start working on the horns with my friend on Friday! I'll edit this post later with pictures. Just thought I'd post a quick update (:

I'm trying to find someone to cosplay as (Already going as Yuna in her FFX costume) that has a... well... appropriate costume. Most of the characters I'd like to go as really aren't wearing things I would dare wear. So.. yeah. xD Any ideas?
@roxas-rei
Try searching YouTube a bit, there are definitely tutorials for that type of thing on there. Just pick the one you think it's easiest to follow. (:

I want to go as Kaylee (from Firefly) in the dress she wore for the Shindig episode.

My Dad's going cosplaying as Jayne (who, despite the name, is actually a guy xD) and knows a lot about the series. He said for such a short-running show, it's got a huge fanbase, so I was expecting SOMEONE to sell her dress. I can't find anything though, and I can't make her dress by myself, and my Dad wouldn't help in a million years. So would it be on eBay? (not allowed on eBay, so I can't check xD) Or is the only option really to make it?
Or, if that's not possible, I was considering just wearing hear plain jumpsuit, but I can't for the life of me find a shirt that looks anything like the one she wears underneath.

So, yeah, any help? xDD

The shirt for the jumpsuit
You could probably get a plain colored shirt and stencil or iron a pattern.
