Name something you love that everyone else hates

Recommended Posts

As the title state; this the reverse topic of Allwil13’s “something you hate that everyone else loves” topic.

For example, I like Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, as many faults as it has.

Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition. I love those two films and I actually like the new take on Batman and Superman. Especially Superman because to me the films made him more flaw and human and I actually care about him. I was never a Superman fan in general because when I was growing up I find Superman boring and a little too prefect, because I was never a fan of overpower characters. But after watching Superman in Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice I actually love the character and I started reading some of his comic books. And I hope Warner Bros. hurry up make and another solo Superman movie because I want to see more of Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. I find for one love 358/2 Days and it's one of my favorite side-story game. Not only I love the story but I also love the characters Roxas, Xion, and Axel more. The gameplay was fun and much better than Chain of Memories. Yeah the missions can be a bit boring at times but the story and character moments makes me forget about the missions. And I especially love Xion in the game because she became my number one favorite character in the series, and I love her character arc and her relationship with Roxas and Axel.

The "mindless" hack and slash of Dynasty Warriors,it can be fun.

Sonic 06,Sonic and the Black Knight and Shadow The Hedgehog (and a lot of complaints people have with Sonic games),I'm not saying they're perfect of course or amazing, but I can have fun with Sonic 06 or Shadow

Space Jam is awesome

Backtracking in video games is fun to me.(well unless it's excessive of course)I know a lot of people like to teleport around all the time in games, but I like to just walk around and explore in games, but of course that doesn't mean I never use teleporters

FFVIII is amazing

I love to listen to video game music in my car or in my phone or whatever, most people think I'm weird because of that.

Pasta or spaghetti with a bit or ketchup is pretty good

Motion controls was fun in Skyward Sword, the game has many flaws,it's the worst Zelda game, but not because of the motion controls

KH358 is fun BECAUSE OF THE STORY(not the tedious gameplay lol)I love the Twilight Town cutscenes where thet eat ice cream, the setting might always be the same, but I enjoyed the different conversations, following Roxas was really fun

I have a long list of things that I love that everyone else hates.  However, since I probably shouldn't post a novel, I will just talk about the thing I love the most that everyone else hates: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

I could talk forever about this, but I will only focus on three specific things.  First of all, I feel like most of the criticisms of this movie can be summed up as, "They got the characters completely wrong."  However, while I'm not sure if all of the characters were inspired by the comics, I know for sure that some of the characters who are criticized the most for not being portrayed accurately were actually inspired by the comics.  For example, the Lex Luthor in the movie was inspired by a version of Lex Luthor from the comics who was young, had a full head of hair, and was so smart that he basically went crazy.

Second (and this is kind of a continuation of my first point), while Batman is known for his "no killing" rule, Batman has not only killed in the past, he has also killed with guns in the past.  In addition, the popular Tim Burton Batman films not only show Batman kill, but the films have no issue with Batman killing.  However, BvS is different because, while it does show Batman kill, the movie points out that Batman is wrong and that he has gone down a dark path that might end up destroying him.  That's Batman's entire story arc.  Thanks to Superman, Batman is redeemed.  This is not only shown by the fact that Batman doesn't brand Lex Luthor, but also by what he says to Diana right at the end of the movie: "We fight, we kill, we betray one another, but we can rebuild.  We can do better.  We will.  We have to."  People seem to have completely missed this because I constantly see people bringing up the fact that this Batman is okay with killing as if he is still okay with it when he clearly isn't.

Lastly, while I agree that the "Martha" scene was not handled as well as it could have been, people seem to have completely missed the point of it.  He didn't spare Superman because their moms have the same name, he spared Superman because he realized that he had become the very thing that he had sworn to fight against.  People seem to love to misrepresent this scene by acting as if the entire scene was Superman saying, "Save Martha!" and Batman responding to him by saying, "Why did you say that name?"  However, if you look at what the dialogue actually is, then I think that the actual purpose of what this scene was trying to get across becomes more clear.  It starts with Superman saying, "You're letting him kill Martha!"  Batman becomes confused, so he asks, "What does that mean?"  This shows that Batman clearly heard all of what Superman just said to him, but he chose to focus in on the name "Martha".  He then says, "Why did you say that name?"  Superman responds by saying, "Find him!  Save Martha!"  Batman then loses it.  Continuing to focus on the name, he begins to yell at Superman, "Why did you say that name?  That name!  Martha!  Why did you say that name?"  Superman is too weak to respond due to the Kryptonite spear, but then Lois Lane shows up and explains to Batman, "It's his mother's name!  It's his mother's name!"  It is at that moment that Batman realizes what he has become.  He's letting him [Lex Luthor] kill Superman's mom.  It is Crime Alley all over again, only this time, he is the one who is pointing the gun at Martha.  However, this time, the trigger doesn't have to be pulled.  This time, Batman can save Martha.  He wasn't able to save his Martha, but he can save Superman's Martha.  I hope that made sense.  Like I said, the scene wasn't done perfectly, but I think that a lot of people completely shut their brains off for this scene when there was clearly more to this scene than just "You're mom's name is Martha?  My mom's name is Martha!  Did we just become best friends?"

And those are the three biggest points that I feel get more hate than they deserve.  I want to be clear, I don't think that BvS is a perfect movie, and I don't think that any of these points that I brought up are without criticism.  I think that BvS has a lot of issues, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying it.  If you didn't enjoy it, that's perfectly fine.  I just personally think that this movie gets way more hate than it deserves.

it does? that a shame its a great game

The DK fandom hates this game just because "it has too many things to collect"

Even tho you only need just half of that to beat the game

No one said they should collect all 201 Gold Bananas or the rest of the stuff there.

I did 101% DK 64...........twice

It isn't anywhere near as bad as people say

Since someone mentioned Skyward Sword, I actually really liked that game. Sure, it might not be the best but I really liked a lot of aspects about it. Although I don't think there is a Zelda game I particularly hate.

Skyward Sword had very unique puzzles, the dungeons were great and the combat was very fun and the stamina meter was a great idea, the game had a lot of neat ideas and it felt like a Zelda game,Skyward Sword doesn't deserve all the hate it's getting...it deserve some of it though I'll have to admit,it's still my least favorite Zelda game for a reason, the extreme linearity ruined the sense of adventure and Fi was super annoying, but it's not complete trash like everybody says.

When I was a kid I though DK64 was a classic like Mario 64 or Banjo,I was very surprised when I saw on the Internet that everybody hates this game,it's so much fun.And I also really hate when people say "this game has too many collectable"(moons in Mario Odyssey and Korok seeds Breath of the Wild) you don't HAVE to collect everything so why are you even complaining, this makes absolutly no sense to me

Yeah

100%ing a game is never a required thing yet for whatever reason people judge games like this as if it's required to get everything

As for the moons in Mario Odyssey, heck you don't even need all of them to get to Dark side of the moon and the game even allows you to buy moons with coins so why the complaint from them?

The Korok seeds in BoTW aren't even required for anything, they're just there for a joke sidequest

Digimon tri, probably... I know not everybody hates it, but so many people heavily dislike it at least. I agree that the plot wasn't great at all, and the final movies felt very rushed and incomplete. But since I tried not to have any expectations, I really enjoyed watching tri despite its flaws. To me the main point in Digimon has always been the characters anyway, and I think tri really handled them really well, for the most part. Just a bit salty Yamato got so little focus. And some character developement for Hikari wouldn't have been bad either...

Still, tri actually made me like Takeru again (didn't really like him in 02 tbh), which I'm thankful for since he used to be my favorite when I was a kid.

I liked Fable 3 a lot and I feel like it shouldn't get all the flack for not being as good as 2. I loved that I could become the Ruler of Albion and make decisions that influenced the country and the people. The combat was just as good if not better than it was in 2, and the humor and storytelling that made the series popular was intact for sure. The only gripe I can say about the game is it's severe lack of post-game content outside of a few unexplored areas and dungeons.

Kingdom hearts RE:CODED, it was the first kh game I ever played, I traded it to a friend for a club penguin ds game I had lying around

I actually like recoded to the point where it's the sole reason I got a ps3, 1.5 and 2.5 for Christmas  2015, and is the reason I'm here now to talk about it

Another one that came to mind: Persona 1, although maybe I speak too soon since I haven't beaten the final boss yet or the Snow Queen Quest... I agree that it's the worst game in the series, but it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Characters are a bit lackluster for the most part, but the story is nice, although fairly simple. I also found the gameplay to be a bit better than P2 Innocent Sin, as it requires a bit more thought due to the grid system (still very easy though, at least on the SEBEC route, heard that SQQ is harder). Also I enjoyed first-person dungeon crawling, which surprised me a lot?
