So I've seen people speculate that Riku's new Keyblade could possibly be that of the Realm Between just like how Kingdom Key (L) and Keydom Key D represent the realms of Light and Darkness respectively.

Well, today I happened to come across the old KH II secret ending again. In it, Terra picks up KK, Aqua KKD, and Ventus picks up Way to Dawn. Now, sure Way to Dawn at the time made sense as it represented a middle road. But what if that scene inspired Nomura to create a true counterpart to KK and KKD representing the Realm in Between.

One hint that Riku's new keyblade could have some connection to the Kingdom Keys is the Mickey Keychain which has thus far only appeared on the Kingdom Keys.

Interesting, you do seem to be right on track about this. We'll just have to wait and see :)

I still don't understand why people still believe that there is a keyblade from the realm inbetween when the reports have already confirmed that there are only three types of keyblades, Light, Dark and Hearts.Since we've had a Kingdom Key's version of both light and dark, then it's much logical for this new speculated Kingdom Key to be the Heart's version, or let's say "Kingdom Key H"

Master Riku has been within the dark side and then went to the road to dawn, which is the between side that isn't the light nor the dark, but now Master Riku has surpassed the phase of being inbetween and headed to the light, and it would be illogical for Master Riku to have a keyblade from "inbetween" (if there were such thing) when he has actually joined the light for good.

At the end, everything is possible and nothing can be confirmed of this new keyblade of Master Riku's but according to all of what we had from info in KH, there is no keyblade of "inbetween".

Yeah, Riku's new Keyblade definitely does have a Kingdom Key vibe to it, and the most obvious giveaway is indeed the Mickey Mouse keychain present on the Keybalde, thanks to the Bring Arts figure we were shown a while back here! Since the only other Keyblades to possess these keychains are Sora and Mickey's Kingdom Keys, it falls along the lines that Riku's could also be the third and final Kingdom Key to round out light, darkness and twilight, ya know?

Though, as Master Keeper pointed out, there are three types of keys, which are light, darkness and heart. So maybe, as he said, it's the Kingdom Key Of Heart, maybe explaining why it has such a radically different appearance in comparison to Sora and Mickey's Kingdom Keys?

It being a KKH would make some sense and feel like a call back to KH I seeing how a possessed Riku wielded the Keyblade of Heart. And the hilt of that Keyblade was a tad similar to the KKs'.

Yeah, now that you've mentioned it, I remember Master Xehanort saying back in KH3D that the real Kingdom Hearts has fallen into darkness and never to surface again, so if it has actually fallen into darkness, could it be possible that Master Riku has found it accidentally on his journey in the realm of darkness? And since the only Keyblade of Hearts that we have seen so far was a keyblade of the hearts of the princesses, could it be possible that this new Kingdom Key of Master Riku's was taken from the original, fallen Kingdom Hearts? The source of all lights and hearts of the worlds?

If Master Riku has already joined the light, then maybe the only stronger Kingdom Key to have other than Sora's Kingdom Key L, would be the Kingdom Key Hearts, from the original Kingdom Hearts, the source of all light and lux. But I guess we'll have to wait and see

Kingdom Key and Kingdom Key D aren't any different from any other Keyblade of Light and Keyblade of Darkness as far as we know.

There are Keyblades of Light, Keyblades of Darkness, and a Keyblade of Heart. Keyblades of Light are Keyblades forged in the Realm of Light, Keyblades of Darkness are Keyblades forged in the Realm of Darkness when a world falls to darkness that a Keyblade of Light was obtained at, and the Keyblade of Heart is the Keyblade created from the Princesses of Heart's hearts. As far as we know, Kingdom Key and Kingdom Key D are not special in any way. Kingdom Key is just a Keyblade from the Realm of Light (a Keyblade of Light) and Kingdom Key D is just a Keyblade from the Realm of Darkness (a Keyblade of Darkness). Keyblades of Light were all forged by The Master of Masters way back in the Age of Fairy Tales by him reaching into the depths of people's hearts, Keyblades of Darkness are forged on a world that a Keyblade of Light was obtained by someone at once that world falls to darkness, and the Keyblade of Heart can be forged/reforged out of all of the Princesses of Heart's hearts.

It wouldn't make sense for there to be any Keyblades of Between since Keyblades forged in the Realm Between would also just be Keyblades of Light as far as we know.

Huh, that's actually a pretty tantalizing guess!  But the Keyblade that is the counterpart to Kingdom Hearts is the legendary X-Blade itself, so Riku's Keyblade is just probably a derivative, just like all the others that have come after the original X-Blade. But it's not out of the realm of possibility that another Keyblade could come directly from Kingdom Hearts itself!

Hmm, you make a good point. Either way, it'll be interesting to see the story behind Riku's new Keyblade once we get to that point in the game! :D
