Star Wars: Rebirth of the Force (1x1 KH rp with Riku)

"I should have thought of that." Terra thought as he moved over to the grate with Aqua.

He was about to step out of the dirty clothes silo when the commotion started heading their way. He shared a look of appreciation with Aqua before the boy came into view. The whole scene played out, causing knots to form in the young jedi's stomach. The fires of anger that had flared when Aqua had been pushed down the chute rose again inside Terra. How could such cruelty and evil be allowed to exist? Well, as a Jedi, he would not allow this to stand.

As Aqua came out of the silo, Terra slipped past her. Her call to stop was punctuated by the snap hiss of Terra's lightsaber igniting. Moving with practiced ease, the young apprentice was next to the slave driver in a blink, his orange blade arcing up. Lightsaber met whip as it came down, slicing through the torture implement. As the majority of the whip spun harmlessly away, Terra moved back, standing protectively between the slaver and the boy, his blade pointed at the big alien's chest.

"Or be stopped." He almost growled, his eyes daring the slaver to try something.

The slaver was taken off guard by the sudden scream. Before he could even react Terra was already between him and Ventus, a blade pointed directly at his chest.

“W-What the- who are you!?” He demanded, taking a step back from the blade. “How did you get in here!?”

The boy’s cries and whimpering could be heard in the background. When Terra stood in front of him however, the boy looked up at his hero in shock with eyes full of tears. Who was his savior? It was none other than the man who fixed his toy not too long ago.

Aqua was jittery, shaking even as she ran toward and knelt down to pull the boy to safety. She was checking him all over, trying to see the damage the slaver caused. The boy whimpered loudly, utterly terrified of anything that came near him.

“I-It’s okay!” Aqua cried, holding the boy by his shoulders. Her face was red from anger, sadness, all kinds of emotions she couldn’t process from that moment. Upon realizing Aqua was an ally, Ventus burried himself into her and cried.

“You- That little runt is MY property! If you know what’s good for you-“

“He’s not your property!!!” Aqua yelled, cradling the crying boy in her arms.

The slaver growled, hand slowly reaching down to a pistol on his hip. He wanted to fight back, but he knew against those lightsabers, he didn’t have a chance. “What do you kids want, huh!?”

"Firstly, for you to keep your hand away from your blaster." Terra said in a cold tone.

He didn't dare spare a look back at the boy, but he could guess from what he was hearing that Aqua was comforting the boy. It became crystal clear to him that there was no way in the Force that they were leaving that kid here. But getting out of here with an angry slaver and possibly an even angrier thief was going to be interesting.

"Secondly, I want you to move to that wall" he continued, nodding his head to a wall facing away from the door to what Terra was hoping was the way out "and put your hands on it. Don't move until I say."

Using his lightsaber for emphasis, he herded the slaver to the wall he indicated.

"Aqua, if you and our new friend will pass behind me, we can get out of this...thing's hair."

Aqua continued to hold the younger boy close in her arms, although she was extremely worried about their situation. They needed to escape, and quick. If they got caught, they could suffer a terrible fate. Trying to help the whimpering boy up, Aqua attempted to carry him but he was far too heavy for her. She held the boy’s arm over her shoulder and began to support him as they retreated towards the door.

The boy continued crying to himself, at this point hardly even able to walk from the shock. There was some blood dribbling down his jaw, and some new wounds on his forearms from the whip, which caused Aqua to mildly panic. There was no time for that, so Aqua tried her best to remain calm and comfort the boy.

“S-Shhh...” Aqua gently uttered to him, using her cloak to cover him. “It’s okay... It’s okay... I need you to be strong, okay.” The poor boy was shaking in her arms. Looking back to Terra, the fear was evident in her eyes.

The slaver growled and reached out his hand.

“If you leave me, you’re DEAD boy-“ he was cut off by the lightsaber yet again, as well as Terra forcing him along to the wall. Growling, the slaver was forced to comply. He showed no remorse or guilt for what he did; if anything it only made him want to enact more punishment on the boy

The slaver pressed his hands to the wall, facing away from the Jedi as told.

With the slaver complying so nicely, Terra waited until he was in position before using the Force to push his head into the wall with enough force that should knock even a big alien out cold. With the slaver slumping Terra turned off his Lightsaber, but kept his finger near the ignition switch just in case the big guy was hardier than he looked. He gave Aqua what he hoped was a reassuring look, but his own worry bled through.

"Hey." He said to the boy, his voice gentle. "I'm Terra and this is Aqua. We're gonna get you out of here, but we'll need your help."

Terra used his off hand to help support the boy with Aqua while keeping his saber arm ready. He pushed gently to get the little group moving towards an exit, giving Aqua a look to make sure they were on the same page.

"What's your name?" He asked the boy, still trying to be gentle and soothing.

While Terra was off taking care of the slaver, Aqua was assessing the damage to the trembling boy in her arms. Luckily the lacerations wasn’t too bad, but the boy was far too skinny than he should be and the shock was definitely going to make him sick. He looked like he was going to faint right there and then in their arms.

Aqua tired her best to calm the boy down, but it didn’t seemed to be doing anything. She gently rubbed the boy’s back as she began to talk to Terra.

“We have to get out of here.” She whispered softly. From holding him, Aqua some of the boy’s blood on herself although the only thing she could do at that point was ignore it.

The boy was extremely silent, afraid to utter even a single word. He stared hard st the ground, sniffling and whimpers escaping his lips.

Aqua had hoped he would answer Terra’s questions, but he didn’t seem capeable to respond. This was bad, Aqua didn’t know how to get back to the ship from here. Looking to the boy, she tried to ask him another question.

“We’re going to get you out of here, okay? You just really need to help us. Do you know how to get back to the station?” Aqua bit her lip praying he would answer. After a couple of minutes of silence, Aqua bent down to make eye contact with the boy.

“Please, Please if you know- you need to tell us-“ suddenly Aqua made a slight surprised sound, almost dropping the boy. The boy had closed his eyes tight, wanting to just be over with it all as out of there.

Aqua paused for a moment, slowly looking over to Terra with a look of bewilderment on her face.

“He... he just told me.” Aqua uttered, stairing down the hallway in front of them. “He showed me the way back... he’s the boy we met earlier. If we go this way, we’ll exit to the tunnel to where we had met him. He... he used the Force.”

Terra waited for the boy to answer, feeling helpless. For all the teaching Master Eraqus gave him, he still didn't know what to do here. If the boy was to scared to talk, then either he or Aqua would need to scout ahead for a way out. But that would mean splitting up, which might not-

Something danced at the edge of Terra's perception. Was it the Force presence he had felt before. He caught Aqua's bewildered look, guessing she felt it too. The revelation that this boy was a force user caused the young Jedi to look at him with a look of surprise.

"The Force must have led us here." Terra breathed. "To find him."

A sound of a distant voice echoed down on of the corridors out of the chamber, reminding Terra of the here and now.

"Okay, if you know the way out, lead the way. Let me carry him, I'll be able to move faster."

Aqua was still rather shocked, although she was forced to snap herself back into attention. Now was no time to waste. They had to find a way out and fast. Luckily with the boy’s directions, they would be able to leave.

“Okay, uhh...” she had to admit she was a bit nervous, especially since she never received directions in her mind before, but she could manage.

With a small grunt, Aqua gave the boy over to Terra. The boy seemed frightened, but mostly unresponsive. He was barely conscious at that point. Aqua draped the cloak over the boy, taking Terra’s hand to lead him down the hallway.

“This way.” She hoped Donald and Goofy were ready to go.

Terra managed to pick up the boy. It wasn't quite as easy as he had thought it would be, but he was confident he could keep up reasonable speed while keeping the kid comfortable. If he had to run, the boy was gonna have to be thrown over a shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Before Aqua put her robe on the boy, Terra got a better up close look at him and his wounds. It made his blood boil thinking about how these wounds were obtained. How could this kind of evil still exist?

Following Aqua carefully, the young Jedi focused his senses on the here and now to get them out of this. The voices he had heard earlier had faded, so they were likely safe on that front. His mind wondered on to the workers the thief had called upon before. Would they find more people under his employ?

"Aqua, do you still have your comlink?" Terra asked in a low voice, hoping to not have his voice carry to any unwanted ears. "Maybe we could get Donald to move the ship closer."

(Who would you like to be? I could be Goofy, or both Donald and Goofy. )

The boy held onto Terra weakly, still shivering here and there. Otherwise he was silent for the most part. Aqua moved forward, staying very close to Terra. She prayed no one would find them. It was hard to fight with a small boy, and she didn't want to risk the boy getting hurt in a fight.

"I wasn't getting a signal earlier, but I'll try." Aqua uttered softly, looking down at a devise she pulled out of her satchel. At first there was no signal, but as they traveled closer and closer to the ship, Aqua began to gather a reading.

"We're really close." Aqua said with a smile, turning on her microphone to see if the ship can hear her.

"Donald, Goofy, please get the ship ready and bring it closer to my signal. We have to get out of here now."

(I'm good with taking one, Donald being my preferred of the duo. I could also take on both, what with you doing most of the NPCs so far.)

"There you are!" Came an irritable quack from Aqua's commlink.

Terra rolled his eyes. Donald Duck was a good friend and ally, but tended to express his worry in angry ways. Master Eraqus often mused that it was a good thing that Donald was not Force Sensitive.

"We've been waiting for word from you two for ages!" The short tempered duck continued.

"Kind of urgent, Donald." The young Jedi said, adjusting his grip on the boy.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah." Donald replied. "I've got the engines fired up and Goofy is locking in your signal. Just keep this channel open. We'll be air born in a few minutes."

Terra let out a sigh of relief, then tried to look down to the boy's face.

"We're almost out of here." He said in what he hoped was a soothing tone. "Then we can introduce you to our friends."

(I’m fine with taking Goofy. After all, the NPCs are just temporary. Would you want to be Eraqus?)

Aqua emerged onto the deck slowly, exiting the tunnel behind a large stack of cargo and other goods. Luckily everyone else seemed to be busy with other things, so hopefully they could wait there until the ship locked onto their location. Staying close to Terra, Aqua checked on the boy to make sure he was okay.

“Terra’s right. We’re going to take care of you okay? I promise.” The boy only responded with some nods and sniffles, which relieved Aqua in the slightest that he was responding period. Hopefully once they actually got out of the black market the boy would be able to relax and talk to them. Aqua felt her heart sank when she reached forward to look at the boy’s face. A slash from the whip went up from his neck and all the way up his jaw. She couldn’t think of how long the boy lived in this place.

“What did he do to you...?” She asked herself, although she witnessed it. Aqua looked to the side when Goofy’s cheerful voice was heard.

“Don’t worry! I already got your signals locked on, ahyuck.”

Aqua was silent for a few minutes, then spoke.

“Goofy, can you please get your medical supplies ready?”

“Sure! Did something happen?” Came Goofy’s concerned voice.

(I'm good with taking on Eraqus.)

"We've got a passenger." Terra said into Aqua's comlink. "He's banged up pretty bad."

"You got the thief?" Donald replied, sounding surprised.

"No, we found a slave boy. We couldn't just leave him here."

"So, we're picking up sight seers now." The irritable duck grumbled, but it was clear by his tone that it was more of an automatic response than one he actually meant.

There was a few moments of silence as Terra and Aqua kept moving before Donald spoke up again.

"Alright, we're air born!" He cried. "Heading your way!"

Goofy quieted down immediately at Terra’s words, the dog’s mood changing considerably. A child? A slave boy? Goofy has a toddler son, whom he loves very much. As a result the idea of a child suffering was a very hard subject for him. It was difficult as it was to raise a child by himself. The thought of his son suffering broke the father’s heart.

“Don’t worry, ahyuck! Everyone will be in tip top shape!” With that, he went to gather his supplies and whatnot, although something seemed to be bugging him.

Aqua sighed softly at Donald’s response. He always complained about everything, although luckily they were already on their way.

“Okay.” Aqua uttered nervously.

Once the ship was close, Aqua spoke in her comlink.

“I see you, we’re right here!”

Terra let out sigh of relief when he saw the gummi ship heading for them. He thought about trying to get the kid to look at the incoming ship, maybe give him a little hope, but decided against it. Better to just get him away from this wretched place.

Donald brought the ship in low, balancing speed and care as he came in close. With a burst of the fore thrusters to kill momentum, the ship came to a hovering stop. Donald spun in his seat and hit the controls for the entry hatch.

"They're coming in, Goofy!" He yelled back to his partner.

As soon as the entry ramp was down, Terra ran forward and jumped in.

"Goofy?" He called out.

Goofy nodded towards his partner, smiling with a bunch of supplies at hand. He quickly went out to greet the Padawans, although his face softened as soon as he saw the boy being supported by Terra. Suddenly the usual cheerful Goofy felt a knot forming in his stomach.

“Put him right here.” Said Goofy as he gestured towards a cot over to the side.

Aqua was in a hurry to get in too; she want to be off that planet immediately. Before she stepped in behind Terra she noticed some of the guards and slavers walking around in search for something.

“We have to leave, now.” Aqua uttered nervously. “They’re looking for us.” Her worry for the moment was cut off by a sudden whimper and some struggling from the boy. He was frightened at the new person in the room.

“N-No!” He cried, before crying out once more from the pain of struggling. He barely had any energy left in him.

Goofy placed his supplies down on the cot, and held his hands up peacefully.

“It’s okay, I won’t hurt ‘cha, honest!” Aqua placed a hand on the boy’s back, trying to reassure him.

Terra placed the kid on the cot carefully then moved to the side to give Goofy better access to the patient. As Aqua came closer, he went to the hatch with his lightsaber in hand. Hitting the ramp control panel, it closed as the search party outside started heading their way.

"Donald!" Terra shouted.

"Just a second more." Came the Duck's voice, something dark in his tone.

The ship slowly pivoted around, its engines towards the search party, nose angled up. As the slavers got closer, weapons were drawn as it appeared they were prepared to board the ship. Once he felt they were close enough, Donald slammed full power to the engines, blasting the approaching slavers back. As the ship rocketed up into the sky, Terra could hear Donald's quacking laughter from up in the cockpit.

"Well that's one way to make an exit." Terra muttered to himself.

Aqua stressfully watched as the slavers grew closer and closer, wondering why in the world Donald didn’t take off yet. Aqua wasn’t expecting the sudden blast, as she fell right on her bottom. With an aggravated sigh, the young woman stood up and approached Terra. Now that they finally escaped, Aqua began to think about the aftermath.

“The boy, he... he has no where else to go.” Aqua uttered softly. “I’m nervous what the Master will say. He hates outsiders.” She glanced back towards Ventus on the cot with Goofy.

Ventus on the other hand was shaking, sobbing softly to himself. Goofy knelt down to Ventus’ height, handing the boy a shock blanket he grabbed from the cabinet.

“It’s okay, ahuyck.” Goofy said with a smile, although he seemed to be less cheerful than usual but trying to be. “I’m Goofy! I’ll take care of all you and you’ll feel much better!”

Ventus held the blanket tightly around himself, the blood at that point drying up on his face. He made sure the blanket covered every inch of his body but his face, appearing as a sort of blue ball.

Terra took a few deep breaths to try to expel the tension from himself. They were airborne and home free. Those slavers wouldn’t be hurt that kid again. When Aqua came over to him, he managed a relieved smile at her, though it waned as his friend expressed her worry.

“There’s no way Master Eraqus will turn him away!” He said, though trying to talk softly enough for his voice not to carry back to Ventus.

“He has the Force. He could be a Jedi, like us. Once we explain how we found the boy, the Master should have no problem taking him in.”

Aqua was silent, deep in thought. She knew very well Eraqus was a good man- an even greater Master; after all, he had taken her and Terra in. But still, this entire situation unsettled her to no end. It didn’t help that it seemed like every year Eraqus wanted to distance himself more and more with the outside world.

“I...” Aqua just didn’t know what to say. She was at a loss for words. Eraqus was so against them seeing the outside world, Aqua was shocked by this one mission. “Master... He... I just, I just didn’t know... that the Galaxy was like this. I know the Galaxy is full of horrible, horrible things, but not this. Maybe this is why Master doesn’t want to be apart of it...” she couldn’t help but tear up replaying the images of Ventus being hurt over in her head. She clenched her hands tightly, nodding softly at Terra’s words. “Yeah... you’re right.”

Meanwhile Goofy was trying his hardest to get Ventus to feel safe and comfortable. As he started his work on Ventus’ wounds, Goofy even tried some small talk.

“Ahyuck, I have a son a bit younger than you. He’s a silly little thing! If he was here, I’m sure he would love to be friends with ya.” Smiling softly at Ventus’ quiet glance upwards towards him, Goofy looked towards Aqua and Terra. “Aqua. Terra. Why don’t ya come over and come talk to him with me? He’ll get better in no time!”

Aqua turned and smiled softly, giving a curt nod. “Okay.”

Terra stared off in the middle distance as Aqua spoke, looking conflicted. With what he and Aqua had seen today, he kind of understood why Master Eraqus wanted to keep to the temple, but...wasn't fighting that kind of evil the Jedi way? To right wrongs and to protect the weak? Terra wasn't sure anymore. Maybe this was something to discuss with the Master when they got back.

Taking a deep breath, the young Jedi put on a brave face and headed over to the boy. He ran through what to say in his head. Asking if this was the first time the boy had been on a starship seemed like a poor option.

"These are the friends I was telling you about." Terra said to Ventus, trying on a smile. "Goofy is as nice as they come, and Donald's a good friend once you get to know him."

Speak of the duck, Donald came down the hatch from he cockpit, looking a little self-satisfied.

"Alright, no chance those jokers can follow us now." He said. "Just a smooth flight back home. Now, will someone tell me who-"

Donald's voice faltered when he got a look at Ventus. Thoughts of his sister Della and her new born triplets filled his mind. Using the engines to blast the slavers back didn't seem like enough anymore.

Goofy was visibly worried, although he grew much more happier when Aqua and Terra approached. He gave his silly chuckle and placed a warm hand on Ventus’ shoulder.

“See? Nothin’ to worry about! We’re all friends here.”

Ventus held his blanket closely to him, shrinking away in the slightest when the two approached. After a couple of seconds however Ventus seemed to relax. Then Donald came in.

The last thing Ventus was expecting to walk out that cockpick was a walking duck. He knew there were many creatures in the galaxy, but all the people who came and left the black market were nothing but rough dirty bounty hunters. Donald Goofy was the stark opposite to them.

Goofy gently rubbed Ventus’ back, reaching forward to try to help tend to his wounds once more.

“I ain’t gonna hurt ‘cha. What’s your name?” Goofy asked.

Ventus bashfully shifted in his covers, beaking eye contact to look towards the ground.

“I... uh...” Ventus tried to think of what to say, panicking in the slightest. “My owner took away my name... he’ll hurt me if I tell you...”

"He's not your master anymore." Terra said in a more forceful tone than he had intended.

He inwardly grimaced. He had to keep it together for the boy. He tried to reach out with the Force to comfort the liberated slave.

"He won't be able to get you where we are going." He said more gently. "Your name is as free as you are."

Aqua placed her hands over her mouth, unable to stop but grow emotional and angry over the outside world. She always knew there were horrible people out there; but to see it, in the flesh and to a child no doubt, it hit Aqua harder than she could imagine.

That was when she absolutely knew she had to protect the boy from any further harm. She was going to make sure the boy felt safe and happy.

Aqua stood next to Terra, offering a small smile.

“Terra’s right.” Aqua said softly. “You don’t have to be scared anymore. We’re going to protect you.”

The boy blushed, finding it rather uncomfortable to see all of the faces looking at him. He wasn’t exactly used to it, especially since living as a slave underground meant he only ever really saw the slaver and others.

He stood silent for a few moments, before he clutched his blanket to himself once more. Finally a small smile broke out on his face.

“I-I.... I’m Ventus. I’m twelve years old.”

Goofy gave his signature chuckle, placing his gloved hand over Ventus’ shoulder.

“It’s nice ta meetcha Ventus!” Goofy chimed.

Terra genuinely smiled when Ventus gave his name. Despite what those monsters did to him, the kid still had a strong heart.

"Pleasure to meet you, Ventus." He said, putting a hand on Aqua's arm. "From here on out, we'll make sure nothing bad happens to you. Right guys?"

"Right!" Donald said, getting some of his bluster back.
