Doesn't winter end in japan march 31st? we have one last chance........

Man... you're hopeful! I really thought they would show or at least talk about something on March 28th (15th anniversary and release of 1.5+2.5) but I was really let down. I am going to take a bit of your faith and hope for something tomorrow but not with much high hopes. If it happens then SUPER if not I won't feel sad :v

It's really impossible to tell when nomura is going to start talking Kingdom Hearts 3 again it could literally happen at any time.

but I've heard Square Enix is the one that's not letting him talk and pulling his strings like a puppet unfortunately.

Either D23 or E3 is pretty much our only hope at this point. Trust me you're not the only disappointed fan around here Square Enix and nomura are doing a pretty poor job at communicating with fans and its saddening.

Yes I know. I understand that they might want to keep it secret and all but this is way too much. I beg that the next thing they show has AT LEAST the release year. That way we can at least count how much we have to wait instead of being on the total unknown. Don't care if it's 2020 just let us know! But like I said before I will try to borrow a bit of your faith and hope for something tomorrow but in a low level :3

Sadly, I think at this point they have already killed the franchise.

The unnecessary delay of 2.8 and the short length,

the poor quality releases of 1.5 + 2.5 and the absolute screw-up on 3 are too much.

The length and complicated storyline rendered the whole saga inaccessible to newcomers and pissed off fans.

Unchained is only a cash-grab and the story is too long. No one is going to sit through hundreds of filler missions at this point.

Also, Disney themselves have given up on the series and don't support it at all.

There's also YenPress and their pathetic releases of the manga and novel series.

Oh well, we might as well hold on to the original copy for PS2 and pretend the rest never happened.

Therefore, Happy Birthday, Kingdom Hearts and RIP.

I wonder what will happen to Kingdom Hearts if Disney pulled the  licences of their properties from Square

Cuz keep in mind even though Nomura designed the main cast, they're actually owned by Disney

Sora,Riku Kairi,Ansem,Organization XIII....etc are all Disney

They confirmed last year that the whole franchise is owned completely by Disney. So the whole game, including story, all video and music material, even KH specific designs and costumes for Final Fantasy characters, belongs to Disney.

Disney has the right to work with all their own and the original characters within and outside the Kingdom Hearts franchise because they have full ownership.

They could make a movie, for example, without Square Enix's permission or participation.

In fact, it is surprising all the existing products are a thing because they have to be licensed and approved by Disney.

I wonder what would happen if Disney really worked on a project without Square. Sounds like an interesting concept.

I don't know what you mean about Disney giving up on KH when it's quite the opposite. Disney has never been a bigger advocate for KH.

Riku/Sora TsumTsum, the 'Ultimate Unlock' in Disney Infinite 3.0 is a Keyblade, The Snapchat Filters in Disneyland- etc. All of these have occurred within the last 3 years, while beforehand all Disney showed of KH was a single pin in one of the shops that weren't restocked commonly, and a 'Disney 411' short special for KH2 that aired for maybe a week. Kingdom Hearts is more famous now than it ever has been.

And as it was mentioned before, Disney owns all of Kingdom Hearts. They have to approve every product. If Disney 'gave up' on Kingdom Hearts, they would not have made it the Ultimate Unlock in Disney Infinity, for sure.

Kingdom Hearts is dead?

Yeah, no get outta here with that 1.5+2.5 is being patched and has been.

Unchained's story is unfinished because you know it hasn't been finished so wait it out and you don't gotta sit through all the filler let the people who handle translating it when the JP parts and going through all of the missions do it.

2.8 was fine tbh for a game that came out at the start of 2017 people expected far too much from it. KH3 will probably get a trailer around E3 if they've held back on news it's probably because they want to info dump us like in 2015.

People's expectations of 2.8 confuse me as it is essentially Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, in it's execution: A Demo sold at regular game price, but the difference here is that it contains Dream Drop Distance HD and Back Cover, a re-release of a past game and a Cinematic Movie.

The reception that Ground Zeroes received was quite mixed and rightly so, it was far too short to justify it's $40 (Oh, I mean, $30. They changed the price soon after release.) price tag and really, it could have been the prologue to Phantom Pain. Same goes for 2.8 here, it could have easily been a prologue for KH3 or something early on at least, instead we get to listen to Willa Holland's dreadful voice acting early! Woo.

On the topic of this anniversary...I really don't care, I've lost most of my ability to truly care for Kingdom Hearts right now. Story's convoluted as firetruck for new players, annoying as hell for the veterans, it's lost it's magic and identity and it's trying too hard to be Metal Gear Solid with how "deep" it's attempting to be.

KH1 may have had slow gameplay, but its usage of the Disney Worlds/Villains and the Keyblade originally not being a thing everyone and their mother uses were far better. Also it wasn't as complicated, so there's that.
