Young Xehanort is bigger than we thought (theory)

Recommended Posts

So I've been thinking and this may have to do with the fact that I just finished Erased and loved how Ben Diskin played Satoru but what if Young Xehanort isn't as bad as we think. I mean sure Old Man Xehanort is pretty much beyond repair but think about it, maybe Young Xehanort is the one that will beat Xehanort, I mean as if the plot isn't confusing enough, but hear me out. Young Master Eraqus and Xehanort have been revealed to be in the beginning of Kingdom Hearts 3 right? Well maybe there's a reason...Why are they their younger selves?....who is their master? Maybe it's all in plain sight (for once :P)  Maybe something could happen like the movie Looper where in order to stop his future self he sacrifices his past self (It is the end of the Xehanort saga right?) And what exactly is Kingdom Hearts? Well our dear friend Sora calls it "Light" maybe it will vanquish/trap Xehanort inside since he resembles Darkness.

Then there is also the theory that Young Xehanort is in fact the final boss after we beat Old Man 'Nort. (Nomura never said which Xehanort)

Eh, I'm not getting that vibe. It seems pretty clear by the end of DDD that Young Xehanort has completely accepted his role in his older self's grand scheme. I think in the end it really is going to be Sora who defeats Master Xehanort, but it may not be in the way everyone is expecting, ie destroying him. I think there's room for another way of defeating him that doesn't require him to be dead. Because lets face it, Xehanort would have found a way out of every scenario where he would be killed off, just straight up EX-ing him isn't going to solve anything. I keep saying this, but for some reason everyone else seems convinced that it has to be "Nope, Sora must kill Xehanort. There is no other way." LOL, cause it worked out so well the last 2 times, right?

Well, though it does sound like something that would meet with the "poetic justice" side of things, I don't think this will be the case.  Remember, Young Xehanort strictly said that events that are destined to happen cannot be changed. So I doubt he'd be able to kill his older self. Let alone he didn't look like he wanted to! It looks like he was more than willing to let fate machinate things in a way that he'd end up being old man Xehanort! So honestly, I don't think Young Xehanort will end up offing his older self! That job belongs to Sora!

Though Hero Of Light plants an interesting hypothesis! Suppose that killing him isn't exactly necessary, but rather, some other course of action? That'd also be possible!

I like this because your right lol I guess it would make sense that way

Yeah, I feel like there is a reason for Xehanort being like this (like what's in that box Luxu!) even though he believes in balance, which I think is reasonable, but still what could have caused him to drive over the edge.

Well, that's something that not even my eye has seen! Xehanort's quite the driven man, and we can only wait to see what else sparked his drive to have "balance" between light and darkness be restored!

first off Young Xehanort said that you cant change events that are supposed to happen like the end of xehanort for example (not saying he has to die)

second, what if YOU from the future, (lets say 30 years in the future, im 19 now so that makes my future self 49) comes to the present time where you are now to tell you everything that will happen but you have to do specifically as he says would you do it? My answer would be yes because that version of ME has already lived everything so why not?

Young Xehanort is destined to be a seeker of darkness just by what he did in such little time to try and make sora a new vessel for old man Nort!

Regardless your theory is pretty interesting. :)

their master is most likely luxu, or luxus apprentice.

and nomura didnt specify which xehanort true, but all seekers of darknes are xehanort... kinda like voldemort and the hoarcroxes or how ever you say it... imo if you end one xehanort youll end all of them dont you think?

I've been playing DDD and am very close to the end.  The "big reveal" with Young Xehanort and what he has been doing all this time was really cool, but incredibly confusing to me.  I think I mostly understand how time travel works in the KH universe, but don't understand how "Xehanort the floating heart" was able to relay all that he did to YX in the past, especially some future events could not be predicted/foreseen.  Even YX confirmed to Sora that not everything had been made known in advance, so how would he and the other Norts have known about Sora and Riku's MOM, and how to sabotage it?

My other question is, at what point did Older Xehanort send his heart back in time to tell YX everything he knew?  If I were to guess, it would be at the exact moment that Xehanort sacrificed his heart to the darkness, and split into Ansem SOD and Xemnas.
