What possible new features could 1.5+2.5 have?

Recommended Posts

We already know that 1.5+2.5 is going to have all 6 games (well 4 games and 2 movies) run at 60 FPS (wait, can you actually get the movies to do that...?) and possibly have slightly enhanced visuals compared to their PS3 counterparts, and will likely bring back all of the trophies and themes their PS3 versions had as well. But beyond that, is there really room for anything else that could possibly be added to make the experience slightly different from the PS3 versions?

I'm not expecting anything huge or radically different or extra, like new secret bosses and scenarios in each game, considering how little time there is until release, but what would there be room for in the time between it's initial announcement and it's release this March? Like, 2-3 additional new cutscences hinting at future developments like the original 2.5 did? Maybe added/better fight scenes for Days and Re:Coded (most likely not, but a fan can dream)? A different rendition of Dearly Beloved for the game selection menu (otherwise just use the Piano Collections version, at least to stay consistent)? Re:CoM cards based off of Re:Coded, BbS, and KH2? A secret movie for KH3 that can only be unlocked after meeting certain criteria from every title in the collection that can only be accessed from the selection menu?

It could be that absolutely nothing more is added to all of these titles and we just get what you would expect from a transition to PS4: 60 FPS, upped visuals, and new menu themes and trophies. In fact, it's more than likely at this point with pretty much no new trailers in the last 3 months since it's announcement, suggesting that there's little else to show off that hasn't already been shown off for the original collections. But if there's even a slim chance for even the most minimal thing, what would it be? My hopes are with a KH3 secret movie that can be unlocked as a reward for completing criteria from every title (and maybe some save data from 2.8, who knows), but what do you guys think is likely at this point, even with the slimmest of chances?

All I want is Square to fix the broken final Xemnas fight along with other bugs and to give Ansem his new texture in Re:CoM. It's quite awkward going from one version of Ansem in KH1 to a different one in Re:CoM and then back to the same one from KH1 in KH3D.

Well, my view on this is that I'm actually expecting to see more battles on Roxas's story! The last time my eye gazed upon the story of this particular boy, battles were absent! So maybe that's a new aspect to consider! Other than that, everything else is just fine! Although I agree with you! Getting to sneak a peek at the final chapter of my book's prophecy via unlocking certain things from the other chapters would be a nice little surprise! :3

I don't see the need for anything extra, unless like you said, they add cards to ReCom based on KH2, BBS and ReCoded. Otherwise, it's probably new themes, considering they don't make the PS3 themes compatible with the PS4 UI. Maybe an option to switch to the old OST. Other than that, it's just touch ups and porting.

However, remember that KH 2.5 had that new secret ending in Re:Coded. I'm thinking that at the very minimum there will be some "new" trailer or ending you can unlock after completing one or all of the games.

That being said my expectations are low since 1.5 didn't have an new ending/trailer, 2.5's was part of Re:Coded, & this is kind of a remake of a remake. Regardless I'm still going to get it since I would love to play KH1 on my PS4.

Nomura already confirmed that there will be new trophies to make it easier to platinum on PS4. So more than likely there won't be cross save. With that in mind, I believe that gameplay bugs from some of the games will be fixed, minor visual enhancements, and we have the 60 FPS gameplay. Not sure what else could be added.

I wouldn't remember as I haven't played the original remixes due to no PS3. Now that it's coming to PS4, I can replay the entire series :D

I'm excited for the nostalgia and going on another ride on the feels train.

Don't forget missing things like the back of Pride Rock when summoning Simba in KH1. That one was weird xD

Oh yeah, everyone keeps mentioning fixing bugs that were in the PS3 versions, I can't believe I forgot about that possibility! Considering how much whining I've done about Ventus-related graphical mishaps in these remixes you'd think I would have remembered something like that. Maybe now they can FINALLY fix that Dive into The Heart thing in the prologue of BBS that's bugged me so much (long story short, they swapped out Ven's beginning stain glass image with his final one, which doesn't really make any sense when you think about it long enough), or even outright missing textures like the Pride Rock thing (didn't even notice that) and Mirage Arena's Land of Departure missing a section of it's castle.

Transformations taking less time to load would be nice too, and maybe, just maybe, considering putting voicework over KH1 Final Mix's extra cutscenes? Maybe? I mean, most of them involve Riku anyways, and David Gallager's matured Riku voice isn't too far off from his young Riku voice, and I think many people will forgive Bret Iwan's Mickey voice contrasting with Wayne Aliwine's Mickey voice, since there's really only one scene that Mickey even shows up in, so there's barely anything to fret over. It'd just feel less awkward to hear everyone's voices the way I'm used to them now in just less than a handful worth of scenes rather than having to see mouths moving with no dialogue coming out of them. On the topic of voices, it'd really be nice if in the collection credits they have a dedication to both Wayne Aliwine and Leonard Nimoy (heck, throw Eddie Carrol in there too, his Jiminy was golden), a lot of really amazing talent dedicated their best abilities towards this series, and in most cases it was the last thing they ever worked on (I think, any Nimoy fans wanna correct me on this?).

I guess really the only things left for this entry would be fixing up small things, things that we were fine living with in the original versions of these titles...but would easily be happy to see rectified now with this version. Also I hope they integrate the 15th Anniversary logo into it, as I was a little disappointed that it didn't make it into 2.8's copyrights section. Yeah it was originally going to come out in December, but that still would have been an appropriate time to advertise the anniversary, seeing as most people were gonna end up playing it in January anyway.

I just really want them to fix the Final Xemnas bug in KH2. That sucked.

In a perfect world I'd love for them to bring back co-op in Mirage Arena, but that obviously isn't gonna happen. I'd cry tears of joy if they brought it back

Remake all 6 games as fully playable in Unreal 4 with Kingdom Shader lol

Seriously though, we know Kairi gets at least one new line, they might redub her entirely as she doesn't have that many.

IMO, having Keyblades from BbS, KH2 and Re:coded in Re:CoM wouldn't really make sense in the context of the story, the cards are all based on Sora's memories. At the the time of Re:CoM, KH2  and Re:coded haven't happened yet so Sora couldn't possibly "remember" the Keyblades he obtained in that game, Re:coded only had one new Keyblade and the rest are already in Re:CoM, and Ventus' heart is still asleep so his memories of his Keybades are out of Sora's reach. The Days Keyblades at least made more sense than the KH2 ones being in the PS2 ersion of Re:CoM as Sora's memories are conected to Roxas', although Roxas wouldn't have had access to most of those Keyblades at the time of Re:CoM.
As long as we're on the subject of Keyblades, I hope this time they replace Data-Sora's Kingdom Key with Zero-Two in the cutscenes after he gets a real Keyblade, but if they didn't do it in the PS3 version, then they probably won't do it here either. I'm still disappointed they didn't add Oathkeeper and Oblivion to DDDHD.

As for what I want, I dont see any reason why they couldn't add a Theatre Mode to KH, that's something they should have done in the PS3 release. They added it to the PS2 version of KH2FM when neither the original Japanese nor international releases had it. Also, make it so Deep Dive plays after Another Side, Another Story, rather than outright replacing it.

I don't really pay attention to things like glitches and bugs as they don't really bother me, but fixing them is always a good thing, just look at Re:coded lol

It could they could take adantage of the PS4's online connectivity. The only drawback I see is that it would mean they'd buff Armor of the Master and No Heart, as in the PSP version of BbSFM they where created with 3 players in mind but where nerfed in the PS3 version to make them easier to solo due to the lack of multiplayer. Adding multiplayer back in would likely cause them to be rebuffed making them nigh-impossible to solo.

The thing is, you can't get those cards until post-game anyway, so they aren't even canon, so who cares which game they come from, they'll never make any sense. So with that in mind, give me more incentive to come back and play through Re:CoM post-game while also giving at least SOME kind of playable component from Re:Coded and other titles. Also that's "Zero/One", not two. I admit it would be nice to see that in-game, but I doubt they would do that, it wasn't exactly given any story significance and I doubt they would go to the trouble of replacing an entire Keyblade in their cutscenes just for that. But you never know. I just want Zero/One in some capacity.

They probably won't bring online back to Mirage Arena unfortunately...but Terra still gets his cape, so I'm fine with that (though I'd be happier if all 3 characters had their capes on all the time in those armors...but odds are the other 5 titles take up whatever space could have gone to those capes). On another note...it's kind of minor, but I really wish they would just change the name of the Armor of Eraqus back to the Armor of the Master, it just sounds much more fitting and less on the nose. At least they're being cheeky with No Heart, why can't the same naming convention be applied to the Armor of the Master? Oh well, not a big deal, but again, a small detail that would be nice.

Speaking of small details...I notice they still haven't corrected Ven's shirt pattern in 0.2, which either means it's supposed to look that way...despite the opening cinematic, or they still haven't noticed that yet. Come on guys, if you can edit a pre-rendered Visual Works cinematic, I'm sure you can just move a few textures around your in-game model, it shouldn't be that much to ask.

Post-game doesn't necessarily mean non-canon. Both Lingering Will and Mysterious Figure (BbS) are post game yet both are canon. In KH it seems to be best to assume everything is canon unless otherwise stated.

And yeah Zero/One. Sorry, it's like 3 in the morning and I had just gotten a notification on a Digimon video.

I'd say more about the Keyblade but that might go off topic and last time that happened I got modded so I'll leave it at this.

Eh no worries. Anyway, I'll just say that gameplay cards are a lot different than secret bosses in terms of what should be considered canon or not, but yeah, that's a bit off topic as well I suppose. I'll just leave it at including the Days cards was a bit of a stretch, but certainly welcome, and I'd regard any cards from any other games in the same way...especially Zero/One, that one is just too cool.

What he said was that the hurdles for the trophies will be touched upon. I think what he meant was that trophies will now be stackable and you'll be able to get your beginner mode and standard mode trophies if you complete proud mode (and only for HD 1.5, as HD 2.5 already had that). In the original collection you had to play 3 times through each game at least to get your platinum trophy. I hope the trophies are ported over to the PS4 though, I don't want to repeat level 99 in Re:CoM :(

I'd prefer the scene with Riku and Mickey in the Realm of Darkness to stay mute. That way it's more of a surprise when Mickey shows up at the end.

I would like the games to look as good as possible, touch them up so they are on the DDD HD level of quality.  Before they do that-FIX the bugs in both collections, the load times etc. I'd also like the ability to choose between the original soundtrack for the individual game or the remastered one, cross saving doesn't matter at all since I barely touched the PS3 versions. Obviously I don't want them dedicating loads of staff members to adding in new content or anything, just fix the bugs and glitches more than anything else.

I really hope SE fix the scene right be the 1000 Heartless battle because it looked bad and it didn't have the Keyblade we had equipped.

And more varying heartless, please.

i highly doubt they would do that when they didnt do it for Final Mix or 2.5's release

They didn't do it in the Final Mix game because of the low cpu of the ps4. But yeah like you said, it didn't happend in 2.5.
