Nomura previously stated that no new art would be made for this collection, and based off of this new image, it seems as though that holds true. What do you think of the boxart? Let us know in the comments!

UPDATE 1: The boxart for Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX has been uploaded and fixed by Square. The original upload had Xion's hand mysteriously disappear in this air. You can check it out below.

It's what you would typically expect, really. Besides, those two artworks really go together!

Peace!

They should've merged the two pictures into one. Then we could really see how they'd go together xD

It's quite interesting to note that the Square Enix NA Store hasn't updated yet. And that Xion's hand is missing. Whether that is symbolism of her fate, I don't know.

Oh, that is symbolism alright. Symbolism of laziness.

I knew there wouldn't be new art, but this just looks lazy. There are a lot of collections that show multiple past covers that don't look half as lazy as this.

I think it's manly because whoever was working with the boxart used a version with the logo on it, so when they removed the 1.5 logo out, the hand went with it as well.

It's just a collection, so box art doesn't matter much.

Really? Because they could have just used the wall scroll

Her hand is covered here too

This is awesome and all but I still just want to know if this collection will have a digital release on the PS Store like 2.8 did :(

Guess I'll have to wait until February and see if a pre-order versions shows up there. I really want to finally get to play this KH games!

It most likely will. It's a requirement from Sony to have both a digital and physical version of a game.

Except that there's no justification for new artwork (especially considering how many key characters you'd have to forcefully place in the cover). This is much more desirable as not only does it pay tribute to the 1.5 and 2.5 art, but it also really sleek with the Kingdom Hearts emblems in the background.

That's correct, but I can recall 3 games that didn't got a digital release for PS4: LEGO Dimensions, Skylanders and Puyo Puyo Tetris. The first two its understandable, you'd still need physical toys to play the game, but PPT got a digital release for the Switch, PS3 and Vita, and only a physical release for the PS4 which is kind of weird and its the only one that I can't seem to find a reason as to why it didn't got one. Someone said it might be 'cause Ubisoft already released a similar Tetris-like game on the Store and that's why PPT's devs decided to not release it there, but this is just a rumor.

But yeah those are the only ones I can think of while all the other games did got a digital release, so I guess I just need to keep waiting and see if any news comes up about this.

I'm not talking new art. I knew there wouldn't be new art. I literally said that. I'm talking about the fact that the two covers together on a black background with barely anything on it (yeah, KH emblems. Not really much) looks lazy.

What I'm saying is that there were ways to have both boxarts in the same cover without looking this awkward.

Eh, I'm not bothered by the approach Square Enix took with the boxart.  It really drives the point home that the two collections are merged into one large collection (2.9?).  So, it's not all that surprising that the boxart of the formerly PS3-exclusive collections is being reused.
