  1. Volume 9 of the Kingdom Hearts II manga to release in Japanese on February 21

    Amazon.co.jp have revealed that the ninth volume of the Kingdom Hearts II manga will be released in Japan on February 21, 2015. It will be available for ¥ 453 (approx U.S $3.85). In this volume Sora will finally face Organization XIII in The World That Never Was as the manga finally approaches it's conclusion. Once the cover artwork has been released we'll let you know.   2. Volume 10 of the Kingdom Hearts II manga premiered in Shonen Gangan today

    After the first volume released in 2007, it has been a long journey to the final volume of the Kingdom Hearts II manga. Shiro Amano, the creator of the Kingdom Hearts manga series took a break after volume 5 and adapted Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days in it's entirety. Amano later returned to Kingdom Hearts II after 358/2 Days' completion. Today the 10th and final volume finally premiered in Shonen Gangan via it's June 2015 issue.

    Update: The Square Enix Gangan website has updated with an official wallpaper to commemorate the release of the final Kingdom Hearts II volume which can be seen below, in various sizes.

  4. Sir. Christopher Lee (Ansem the Wise's original voice actor) passes away, aged 93

    Sir. Christopher Lee, Ansem the Wise's voice actor in Kingdom Hearts II has sadly passed away today, aged 93.

    Sir. Christopher Lee was born on May 27, 1922 in Belgravia, London, England, United Kingdom. He was an actor, singer and author. He was most well known for his roles as Count Dracula in a string of popular Hammer Horror films, Saruman in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy and The Hobbit film trilogy, and Count Dooku in the final two films of the Star Wars prequel trilogy.

    After he voiced Ansem the Wise/DiZ in Kingdom Hearts II, Corey Burton took over. Corey Burton is known as the audio double for Christopher Lee and took over for him in Star Wars: The Clone Wars as Count Dooku after its feature length film and did so again for Kingdom Hearts having voiced Ansem the Wise/Diz in all titles following Kingdom Hearts II.

    The world has sadly lost a legend. R.I.P Sir. Christopher Lee, you will be missed greatly by all.

  5. New Kingdom Hearts Play Arts figures revealed at San Diego Comic Con

    Square Enix North America has unveiled their Play Arts Kai table at San Diego Comic Con 2014, revealing new Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX figures of Sora and Roxas. These figures are among the purchases that qualify the buyer a ticket to get a the postcard signed by Tetsuya Nomura, director of the Kingdom Hearts series. Images of these figures, as well as all other photos from Comic Con, can be seen below in our gallery.

    After being revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 and finished recently, we now finally have a release date for the new Kingdom Hearts II Play Arts Kai figures.   7. New Kingdom Hearts II Play Arts Kai finished

    Hidemi Matsuzuka, Square Enix's Merchandise Manager has posted photos of the new Kingdom Hearts II Play Arts Kai figures of Sora and dual-wielding Roxas on their Facebook page. These were shown at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 however they're now the finished product with colour and detail. There has not yet been an announcement for when these will be available for purchase but once there has been we'll let you know. You can view the photos below, in our gallery.

  8. Kingdom Hearts/Kingdom Hearts II folder set revealed

    Square Enix has announced that they're releasing a Kingdom Hearts/Kingdom Hearts II folder set in Japan on August 19, 2015. It will cost 780 Yen ($6.35 U.S). The folder set features the key art for both Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II that were featured on the front covers of the original PlayStation 2 releases of the two titles as well as the title screens.   9. Kingdom Hearts publications being released electronically by Yen Press

    For those who haven't been able to pick up the paperback Kingdom Hearts publications that have been released in the past couple years, Yen Press has now conveniently begun releasing their English publications electronically via e-books. On March 21, 2017, Yen Press released Kingdom Hearts: The Novel electronically for $7.99 USD.

    Furthermore, on April 18th, Yen Press will be releasing Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories: The Novel electronically for $7.99 USD.

    With these electronic releases, Yen Press will also be releasing the newest publications Kingdom Hearts II Vol. 4 ($6,99 USD electronically) on May 23rd & Kingdom Hearts II: The Novel Vol. 1 ($7.99 USD electronically) on June 20th, both available for the first time in English and for purchase electronically on day 1.

  10. Kingdom Hearts Play Arts Kai prototype figures shown at Tokyo Game Show 2015

    During San Diego Comic-Con 2015, prototypes for new Play Arts Kai action figures of characters in the Kingdom Hearts series were shown. These same prototype figures shown at San Diego Comic-Con have also appeared at Tokyo Game Show 2015. Figures include Halloween Town Sora with an interchangeable pumpkin mask, Kingdom Hearts II Riku, and Kingdom Hearts II Final Form Sora which will be available for purchase at D23 Expo Japan in very limited quantities.   11. Kingdom Hearts manga series available digitally at select retailers

    The volumes of the Kingdom Hearts manga series that have been released thus far by Yen Press are now available for purchase in e-book format at Barnes & Nobles and iBooks. The individual manga have also been made available at ComiXology, an Amazon subsidiary, today.

    According to KHInsider, the manga were formerly available for purchase at Amazon Kindle, Google Play, Book Walker, and Kobo as well. It is unknown if the Kindle version of the manga volumes will be available for purchase again soon.

    The Kingdom Hearts manga series is a comic book adaptation of the video-game by artist Shiro Amano, with the final volume of the English Kingdom Hearts II manga coming out on May 23rd, 2017. The video-game has also been adapted into a series of light novels by Tomoco Kanemaki; Yen Press has in fact recently announced the future localization of the novels for Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, and Kingdom Hearts II Vol. 1 & 2.
