UPDATE: Game Informer has revealed their Top 100 RPGs of All Time. Kingdom Hearts II takes the #25 spot. The description of this spot can be found below:

    { 25 } Kingdom Hearts II

    PLATFORM: PS4 • PS3 • PS2

    RELEASE: 2006

Combining Square Enix with Disney in the original Kingdom Hearts was dangerous but successful. This gave Square the chance to dramatically improve the concept with a sequel. Kingdom Hearts II marked an apex for the series thanks to its improved mechanics and more interesting Disney worlds to visit. The story was also good, though it started to go off the rails toward the end.

  2. Kingdom Hearts II featured in IGN's Top 100 RPGs of All Time; ranked as number 86

IGN has released an article of a list of what they consider to be the Top 100 RPGs of of all time. In this article, Kingdom Hearts II is featured and ranked as the 86th best RPG of all time.

Next to each game on the article, is a short summary of why the game is one of the top RPGs of all time and why it's on the list. Read Kingdom Hearts II's summary, written by IGN Associate Editor Jonathon Dornbush, below:

Kingdom Hearts 2 considerably ups the combat possibilities of its predecessor, introducing new forms — and snazzy new suits — for Sora to wear. The addition of the Reaction Command in combat also spices battles up, making for a combat experience made even more varied by the addition of the new Nobodies enemies. By streamlining some of the first Kingdom Heart's systems, including magic and the awful Gummi Ship levels — not to mention deepening the lore to stranger, more engaging depths — the first numbered sequel in the 15 year old franchise is still one of its strongest and one of the most fun to play.

  15. An unused song has been found in Kingdom Hearts II code

Another piece of cut content for Kingdom Hearts II has been found in the game's code by YouTuber Keytotruth. The instruments used for this theme are different from the Final Fantasy IX version suggesting this was used as a placeholder and the initial composition was early in development. You can listen to the unused song below.

  24. Kingdom Hearts II music to be performed at The Game Symphony Japan 10th concert

Music from Kingdom Hearts II will be performed at The Game Symphony Japan 10th concert which will take place on June 7, 2015 at The Symphony Hall in Osaka, Japan. The music will be performed by the Game Symphony Japan, professional musicians that are known for their orchestrated renditions of popular video game music. They also have had the privilege to work with names like Yoko Shimomura, composer of the Kingdom Hearts series and Nobuo Uematsu, the original composer of the Final Fantasy series.

While this concert is focusing on a game in Final Fantasy VII that played a huge role in eventually creating the Kingdom Hearts series it will feature some Kingdom Hearts II songs including Dearly Beloved and Scherzo Di Notte. It will also feature music from another title composed by Yoko Shimomura, an old Square hit called Live A Live on the Super Famicom.

Thanks go to Siliconera for the tip.

More information regarding this concert can be found on the concert's official website.
