During today's Nintendo Direct, Square Enix revealed a brand-new trailer for Kingdom Hearts IV. While the trailer did not reveal a release date, it did however, reveal that the title will launch as a simultaneous release on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S and PC. During today's Nintendo Direct, Square Enix announced that the Kingdom Hearts games are all coming to Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 8, 2026. Owners of the cloud editions on Nintendo Switch can port their save file over to the Nintendo Switch 2 version, and in addition, a bundle called the Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III], which contains all the games, will also go on sale at the same time. Square Enix has unveiled a new illustration celebrating the 24th anniversary of the Kingdom Hearts series. Drawn by Tetsuya Nomura, this artwork depicts Young Xehanort holding an umbrella, reminiscent of the artwork the character received in 2022 during the Dark Road Q&A. A brief message accompanied this visual as well, thanking fans for their continued support and noting that the development team is working hard for the upcoming 25th anniversary. To celebrate Halloween this year, Kingdom Hearts series director Tetsuya Nomura has surprisingly shared a new illustration on social media. This latest artwork depicts Sora, Donald, and Goofy in their Halloween Town attire within that world, with Sora wielding what appears to be a new Keyblade.
